Hello everyone . Like some of my friends , I also got hit by the banscythe . I want to make perfectly clear that this is not a QQ thread . I wrote to A-net about this issue - that they banned the wrong guy, because I have NEVER even thought of using a cheat/exploit/bot . But they seem to think different, and after 2 days of waiting I got a response :

Now you tell me if it's fair to claim, that a player who has reported 100s of bots both in-game and trough the e-mail report system *WITH PICTURE EVIDENCES* and obvious violations and he never cheated the game in ANY way deserves a ban . I can claim for sure that scam/rule violation was pretty obvious on EVERY picture I've ever sent to A-net and they still said "There's nothing we can do about it." . Wouldn't you be angry too if you was me ? You were totally loyal for all the time (4 years and half in my case) and you get a ban for something you haven't even done ? And there's pretty much nothing you can do about it..don't know people..I would like to see what you think..

I actually did talk to support and I keep getting the same copy/pasted responses . I just sent a 2 line message with words like " I have NEVER used a bot in my whole life " to make it clear if they didn't see it in the previous messages..

Could A.Net have made a mistake and banned people who didn't actually cheat? Yes. Does that mean everyone here should believe you? No. you can say you didn't cheat and never botted and try to get everyone to feel sorry for you. Fact is, you got banned so A.Net detected something and banned you for it. Sorry buddy, but I'm more inclined to believe them than you.

you probably have to do better then just say you never used a bot. because lots of people are probably doing the same thing now trying to get their account back.

I understand you, it's your right to have doubts and have a personal opinion, but I would like to hear , what can they detect that makes the "Bot Alarm" start ringing ? Because in my case..I have no idea what it could be .

Did your friends who used the bots trade or give you large amounts of ectos, valuable minis, etc.? Some storage accounts were also banned.

support very likely has no evidence. anet probably has some kind of record, but i am 99% sure that support does not have access to it (or simply just cant be bothered to). in other words, your probably not getting help because quite frankly support is unable to help you.

No, I am 100% sure in that , I've never accepted anything from my friends . But I can also ensure you that I didn't have botters in my friend list..or at least botters I know about.. I think I remember of a case when a friend lent me his BDS, because I wasn't sure if I want to buy one or not . So I played with it , but I gave it back to him. Could it be that ?

I am here to collect your opinions , people . Because if today in this world, they can ban you with no reason and tell you you did something you never did, and you have no chance to prove them different...then WTF is wrong with our world if things are like that ?

Many people thought that they can bot on another account and just trade spoils to main account every so often. Thinking that their main will be safe becuase they don't actually do bot on it.

Anet caught up on that and also banned mains that were directly fed by boting accounts. Turning "meh, 5$ throwaway account lost, ill get new one." to "OMG, everything is gone and my life ruined QQ!!!", basically actuall punishment rather than pointless wristslap.

"I did not bot on that account" if true does not hold much weight if you still profited from bots.

If it was just 1 BDS, then I doubt that was the reason...

Have you used mods that you thought were legit, but turned out to be bannable: drunkard bot, G15 macros, texmod or KSmod downloaded from another site besides Wiki?

I have had only one (1) account for the whole 4 1/2 years I've played Guild Wars . I had no 2nd accounts to bot on, never accepted free expensive stuff , never bought gold online , never cheated the game in ANY way...I feel kinda sad..I've earned every single achievement in this game with the cost of my time, my efforts and last but not least , my health . I spent last 2 months making money for stuff I've always wanted to achieve/have, and all my money was made the fair way and now I get banned ? Wouldn't you feel like me if it was your account ?

Hmm..now that reminds me of 1 case . Once, after I got my PC reinstalled I searched for TexMod in google , I downloaded the version from the 1st site, which I think was some german site . I used it for cartography title , maps were downloaded from the same site . But it didn't work , game started , TexMod was running , but no effect from the mod loaded . I asked a friend, who told me to download the wiki version, gave me a link and I got it from there . I downloaded maps from there, and TexMod worked. I'd feel really dumb if that's the reason..

Transfering of an item to another account and then back might trigger some automatic account associating system, which paired the accounts together. It would really suck if it was the case, but if you're really innocent maybe you should ask them to analyse IP addresses used to access your banned account - they should be obviously different than all other banned accounts.

That may well have been an edited version of Texmod, which would be bannable according to Regina's thread. Some German GW sites look really shady, so I would stay away from those.

If this is the case of using a shady version of Texmod, you could have a shot at getting your account back if you present your case to Anet support in a mature and sincere manner.

Read the EULA, they can ban you if you botted or not. You agreed to it, now you go back and say its unfair.

All I can say is QQ moar, sucks for you, especially if you didn't bot (which I highly doubt is the truth)

it appears that some of these oh so innocent botters are really great at lieing to themselves, might i suggest Anet posts a response to these folks publicly? perhaps then the matter will be settled, after all, if you are telling the truth, and are so sure public forums are the place for redemption why not get public redemption from Anet? would love to see how many threads come up then

I am already in a process of discussing this with them . I won't pout, flame or start cursing just because you guys choose not to believe me . As I said, I only want an opinion , if you were banned like that, how would you react/feel .
